Install Streaming Estimate application program to calculate the required bandwidth or recording time.
With Streaming Estimate program, the required bandwidth is equal to the recording time.

  1. This depends on Record Setup. Must set up Record Quality lower and Record FPS more.
  2. Besides, right click the mouse on the live image to display ActiveX control menu and set up Performance as High.
  3. In WAN, confirm downloading bandwidth is enough.
As long as the downloading bandwidth is not enough, it will cause the image and the audio distortion. Based on actual image and audio sizes, there is no recommended bandwidth.

NOTE︰
In order to load each channel’s image with the split screen, it takes the loading time longer; however, the user can choose to receive sub streaming that can shorten the time.

The following models support sub streaming.
HDR-16AF
Hybrid HBR-09BE/ 16BE

Local Site︰MENU → Network Setup → Network Streaming Setup → Network

Streaming Mode︰Main Streaming/ Sub Streaming
  1. Main Streaming: It displays H.264 images with the split screen.
  2. Sub Streaming:It displays JPEG(CIF)images with the split screen.

  1. Install ActiveX again.
Delete ActiveX at C:WINDOWSDownloaded Program Files
After delete ActiveX, DVR will request to download
ActiveX automatically thru the web browser.
  2. Update PC's graphic card driver.
  3. Test another PC in order to exclude PC's graphic card compatible issue. If the problem remains, it requires repairing the motherboard (IC or Codec...failure).
NOTE︰
  1. When ActiveX cannot be downloaded automatically, refer to the user manual Optional Microsoft Internet Explorer Setup and confirm IE Security Settings correct (Tools → Internet Options → Security Settings).
  2. Also test local DVR playback with BNC and VGA outputs.

IP Installer cannot search DVR or it cannot connect with DVR thru the web browser.

  1. Set DVR IP Setting with DHCP. After DVR gets a DHCP IP, use IP Installer to search it again. Then, assign it with a static IP manually.
  2. Or use Cross Over to connect DVR with PC in order to exclude any network environment issues.
  3. In WAN, confirm Router’s Web Page Port is enabled and corresponding to DVR’s.
  4. In LAN, if IP Installer can search DVR, but it cannot be connected thru the web browser, make sure the first 3 sections of DVR IP Address and PC IP Address must be the same.

    For example,
    DVR IP Address︰192.168.30.X
    DVR Gateway︰192.168.30.254
    PC IP Address: 192.168.30.X
Enable DDNS with PPPoE connection; however, the connection is not stable.
When the remote connection is via Router or IP Sharing device, recommend using Router’s or IP Sharing device’s DDNS function.

Reasons:
  1. DVR cannot update the actual (updated) IP in time.
  2. If setting schedule update too frequently, the IP may be blocked by DynDNS.org. In genera, schedule update once per day (1440 minutes) is recommended.

The steps to enable Router’s DDNS function:
  1. DVR:Disable DDNS function.
  2. Router:Enable DDNS function. e.g. Use DynDns.org. Must apply a DynDns account first, and then on DDNS setup just input Hostname, Username, and Password.

NOTE: If there is more than one DVR, Router must assign port forwarding.
